The Shinobi With The Straw Hat

Denial

Denial

0Today's wheater was beautiful. The sun hung high up in the air, warming the flowers and the fields of grass. Amidst the beautiful sight, corpses lied dead. Dreams shattered, families destroyed forever.

The war had been going for some time now with no sings of stopping. Iwa had always the upper hand since the start of the war. And everyday the troops would fight with their lives for the village, honor and the Tsuchikage.

It was with such intent that Daitan led his clan, the Kamizuru clan towards battle. To fight against their long time rivals whom their ancestors had always hated and where their battles stretched further than the warring period. An animosity that fueled their hearts and strengthened them for the battle to come.

Their fueled hearts quickly quelled and were engulfed by fear. Nothing could prepare them against what they would face. A man faster than sound who's blade would let out the cries of thunder.

"What are they doing here?! Retreat before it's too late!" while chaos ensued, a Kamizuru suggested retreat. To retreat, to save their lives. Only a few listened and started to run away further and further until their silhouettes became as small as the grass they were standing on.

"Lord Kamizuru! Surrender! I will give you this chance only. I've had enough of this war, of all this fighting but.... As long as my brethren are fighting to their deaths I shall fight too!" Daitan sighed, he knew that there was not much he could do.

"Never surrender. That's why we Iwa shinobi are the strongest. We never cower in front of death. I, Daitan Kamizuru will fight side to side with my men!" all the Kamizuru roared with rage, their courage came back to them and their fear vanished.

The bees came out of their jars, their wings flapped making menacing noises but all of this was in vain. Seconds later, the superior insect arts of the Amburame clan made quick work of the bees.

Tobirama used his Flying Thunder God Jutsu coupled with his famous Sword of the Thunder God to slice through the Kamizuru formation, they fell one after the other. While the Senju and Amburame looked in awe, the Kamizuru screamed in pain and horror.

The green grass turned red from the smelling blood, torn arms and spilled guts. Daitan lied on his back while holding his bloody chest. His eyes looked straight at the blue sky, tears flowed out of his eyes, his life slowly fading away.

"Kentaro.....take care of Amaterasu and my grandchild." Such were his last words. His eyes closed and his body started to turn cold. The Senju were checking if everyone was dead by stabbing the corpses one by one.

"Our work has been done. I don't know if this is the entirety of the Kamizuru clan but having killed their Lord is very good. One of Iwa's great clans has been greatly weakened or perhaps annihilated." Tobirama was not proud of his actions but he was proud of the benefits it would give to Konoha.

"Lord Tobirama, Lord Hokage will be very happy of the news. Maybe it will give us an edge in this losing war. As for my Amburame clan, we are grateful to you and your efforts." the two clans bed farewell and went on their ways, to battle once again.

**************

"Lord Tsuchikage, something isn't right." a shinobi came into the command room with a paper in his hand and gave it to Kentaro. It was a message from the sensing battalion.

"You're telling me that the sensing battalion has lost the Kamizuru clan in the span of a few seconds? This doesn't make any sense." Kentaro knew what it meant, it meant that all of them were death.

"The Amburame clan is strong there's no doubt about it but they aren't capable of killing a hundred shinobi in the span of a few seconds. I think another party was involved, perhaps the Uzumaki?" Koro was trying to clarify things for Kentaro and himself.

"I don't believe they are dead. You suggest that the Uzumaki were involved, right? Well, don't forget that the Uzumaki are fighting Kumo in the front of the Hot Waters. All the other clans of Konoha are struggling against our forces, I don't see who could have been dispatched to help the Amburame." Kentaro couldn't think straight at that moment and stood up.

"I can't sit here any longer. The father of my wife, the grandfather of my child, my father-in-law, Daitan is supposed to be there. I must see it with my own eyes.....if he's truly dead or not." Kentaro stormed out of the command room. For the first time, the Anbu leaders didn't try to stop him nor dissuade him.

"You, did the sensing battalion give you the last known position of the Kamizuru clan?" outside of the command room, Kentaro bumped with the shinobi who gave him the message earlier.

"Yes, Lord Tsuchikage. Everything is written on the other side of the paper I handed to you." Kentaro turned the paper and nodded. Everything was indeed written, from position to time.

The civilians looked up in the air wondering what Kentaro was up to. He was hovering high in the air, his mind filled with thoughts. From anger and sadness to denial. Maybe he knew deep down that all of them were death but denied reality.

How would he announce it to Amaterasu? How will the child grow up without the precence of his grandfather?

"I must not overthink! Let's find out if they're truly dead. NO, they're alive. I'm just gonna find them and bring them back home. I'm coming Daitan." it's with a conflicted look that Kentaro flew away from the village under the gaze of everyone.
