Doomsday Fortress

A burst of sawdust flew everywhere. Just as Wang Yi stepped onto the stairs, the thin wooden door behind him was opened by a zombie!    

"HOWL ~ ~"    

Wang Yi turned his head to look and what entered his sight was a mass of white and white zombies.    

His heart was shocked. If his reaction had been slightly slower, he would have been completely surrounded by the hornet's chrysalis zombies. No matter how strong Wang Yi was, he wouldn't have been able to escape being eaten by the zombies!    

"Run!"    

While he was still in a daze, Wang Yi's legs rapidly alternated as he sprinted up the stairs.    

At this time, Wang Yi no longer cared about attracting other zombies due to the noise. The group of zombies closely followed Wang Yi. If they were to slow down a little, they might get entangled by the zombies.

A zombie wearing a white coat was moving at an extremely fast speed. It was as if it was a wild beast, landing on all fours and closely following Wang Yi's footsteps. In the blink of an eye, its sharp claws were about to grab onto Wang Yi's ankle!    

Wang Yi heard the sound getting closer and closer. He turned around and saw the zombie jumping into the air. A pair of sharp claws was about to grab his calf!    

"Bang."    

Completely out of instinct, Wang Yi twisted his body, retracted his leg and kicked. In an instant, it was completed, and at the same time he dodged the sharp claws, he ruthlessly kicked the zombie's parched head!

The thick rubber soled military boots made intimate contact with zombie fangs.    

With a crisp sound, Wang Yi could clearly hear the sound of the zombie's fangs breaking. Wang Yi suddenly kicked down the zombie and smashed it into the group of zombies behind them, causing a loud roar!

In the blink of an eye, Wang Yi was halfway up the stairs when a roar came from the top. Wang Yi hesitated and suddenly two zombies came out from the top of the stairs, blocking the path in front of them.    

Wang Yi's forehead couldn't help but break out in a cold sweat. The two zombies in front didn't take much effort, but the zombies at the back almost completely blocked the stairs. If they got entangled, then the zombies behind Wang Yi could easily imagine Wang Yi's fate.

No, Wang Yi denied it immediately. They were already on the fourth floor, which was more than ten meters from the ground. If Wang Yi were to jump down, even if he didn't die, he would be seriously injured.    

All sorts of thoughts flashed through Wang Yi's mind, but there was nothing he could do to resolve the situation. His footsteps did not stop as he was about to collide with the two zombies.

A zombie suddenly sped up, opened up its arms and mercilessly charged towards Wang Yi's lower abdomen.    

"This is bad!" Wang Yi cried out in his heart. The zombie's arms were wide open and it happened to be covered by the stairs. The angle was tricky, so Wang Yi couldn't possibly dodge up and down.    

While Wang Yi was lost in thought, he saw the gap between the steel handrails at the intersection of the two flights of stairs.    

The ten centimeters gap was just enough for the iron hook on the rope to pass through.    

Wang Yi's expression was full of joy. He used one hand to hold onto the rope hanging from his waist and at the same time, jumped up and landed directly on the head of the zombie that was flying towards him.    

"Bang!"    

"ROAR!"    

Without waiting for the zombie to grab him, Wang Yi used the rebound force to kick the zombie hard. Wang Yi's body fiercely flew upwards.    

"Sou ~ ~"    

With a swing of his arm, the iron hook, like an arrow released from a bow, accurately pierced through the narrow gap!    

"Crack crack!"    

The fence suddenly tilted outwards, and Wang Yi, who was hanging on the rope, fell down. A zombie that reacted quickly suddenly jumped up and used its claws to pull Wang Yi's military boots.    

The remaining zombies didn't want to be outdone. One by one, they dragged the zombies that were hanging in the air away from Wang Yi and climbed up without a care in the world.    

Wang Yi immediately shook his body violently, like a fish out of water. As he wagged his head and wagged his tail, one zombie after another fell to the ground. Except for the zombie holding onto his army boots, they were still hanging firmly on Wang Yi's feet.

Wang Yi cursed angrily. Even a clay figurine would feel a bit angry. I was forced to this point, yet I continued to bite on it.

The fence that was hanging onto the rope suddenly shook violently. Wang Yi looked over and saw that several fence bars had been bent by the weight of Wang Yi and the zombie.    

"We can't drag this on any longer!"    

Wang Yi's eyes flashed with ferocity. He opened his hand, took out a dagger from his pocket, aimed at the zombie's bleeding mouth, and threw it down!    

"Puchi!"    

Wang Yi angrily stabbed the dagger into the zombie's mouth. The sharp edge penetrated the zombie's neck, causing black blood to flow out.    

It splashed onto Wang Yi's leather boots, shiny and smooth, as if it was coated with oil. The strength of the zombie's claw lessened, and although the dagger that entered the zombie's mouth wasn't able to kill it directly, it was enough to destroy its nerves, causing it to temporarily lose its strength.    

"Bang!"    

Wang Yi kicked the zombie off and quickly climbed up with his hands gripping the rope.    

"Hiss ~ ~"

Several zombies jumped up, but they couldn't reach Wang Yi. However, the group of zombies instinctively continued to climb the stairs, pulling the distance between them and Wang Yi.    

Wang Yi didn't have time to see what the corpses were like down there. He used both his hands and feet to grab the edge of the stairs the moment the fence broke. Then his body swayed and landed steadily in front of the stairs.    

"Fifth floor!"    

He quickly put away the rope and looked at the sign hanging on the corridor. It was the fifth floor and the corridor leading to the clinic was on this floor.    

"Clang! Clang! Clang!"    

Suddenly, the sound of objects colliding could be heard in the quiet corridor. Without waiting for Wang Yi to enter, zombies rushed out from the two sides of the ward and tightly blocked the narrow corridor. The closest one was only a few meters away from Wang Yi.

They were just hospitalized patients before, Wang Yi even saw a few patients in a cast with steel clips, but after the apocalypse, whether it was fractures or other illnesses, as long as the legs were still on them, they became as healthy as a person, or even more flexible than a healthy person.

The zombies on the fifth floor were awakened by the noise. The lingering smell of food in the air urged them to enter the corridor.
